LONDON, UK – 03 March 2021 – Davies, the leading specialist professional services and technology business, today announces the acquisition of Nationwide Property Assistance Ltd (“NPA”), the leading home emergency specialist, based in Birmingham, UK. NPA provides claims management and command centre solutions to housebuilders, housing associations and insurance companies.
NPA will form part of Davies’ existing Claims Solutions business in the UK, adding 24/7 home emergency assistance service to its existing range of end-to-end claims solutions. NPA CEO Nick Haycock will continue to lead the business and will report to Davies’ Managing Director, Russell Crewe. All 190 NPA employees will continue in their roles as Davies colleagues. With all major UK political parties committed to the expansion of new home building, Davies sees the potential for strong organic growth, as well as using NPA to support 24/7 support in its wider claims operations.
In 2020 Davies deepened its claims capability in the UK, most notably in December when it added new motor claims capability through the acquisition of VRG, offering end-to-end insurance-related vehicle rental, third party intervention and new vehicle replacement through its tech enabled platform; and BMTS, the specialist vehicle inspection and expert witness services to the insurance, legal and private sectors.
Globally Davies has more than 4,250 colleagues, with operating centres across the UK, Ireland, Bermuda, the US and Canada. The business delivers professional services and technology solutions across the risk and insurance value chain, including excellence in claims, underwriting, distribution, regulation, customer experience, human capital, digital transformation & change management.
Dan Saulter, Group CEO, Davies commented: “It’s great to welcome Nick and the whole NPA team to Davies. The deal brings a team of home emergency experts who will complement our end-to-end claims solutions and broaden our capabilities for our clients. Many of our clients are seeking to work with fewer strategic partners, who can provide a diverse range of solutions, meaning that extending the breadth of our services remains a central pillar to our growth strategy. With new house-building expected to gather pace in the UK in the coming years, we are excited to be able to invest and grow in NPA to deliver organic growth in the years ahead.”
Nick Haycock, CEO, NPA added: “We are delighted to join Davies and bring a new set of technical expertise to the firm. Davies’ story of growth and investment in people and technology is one that resonated with our team. The culture at Davies was an important factor for us and this deal will give our employees more career development opportunities, as well as give them access to employee initiatives such as the Davies Disruptive Thinking innovation lab and their focus on giving back to local communities through The Davies Foundation.”
